Artistas asturianos en Berlín
VALHALLA es un proyecto comisariado por Semíramis González, con el apoyo del Gobierno del Principado de Asturias.
VALHALLA is a project curated by Semíramis González and supported by the Government of the Principality of Asturias. It presents three Asturian artists along with its three galleries, in the Berlin Gallery Weekend: Chechu Álava (with Espacio Líquido gallery), Carlos Coronas (with Guillermina Caicoya art projects) and Avelino Sala (with Gema Llamazares Gallery). VALHALLA, in Norse mythology, is the paradise that exists beyond life and death. In this relationship with the idea of "paradise" and the connection with Asturias, seeks to link the art of Asturias with the German capital.
CHECHU ÁLAVA (Piedras Blancas, 1973), comes with Espacio Líquido Gallery (Gijón). The painting of Álava, internationally recognized to be included in the publication "100 Painters of Tomorrow", from the publisher Thames & Hudson, it delves into the mysterious, with her personal style, where the soft brushstroke and subdued color reflect complex worlds which are more than simple portraits, as full constellations of characters captured beyond the physical.
